Practical AI, built close to the work.
PrincipleAI helps construction, manufacturing, and distribution companies build capable teams and improve operational workflows. The work is founder-led by Dan Hughes, combining more than 25 years of data, ERP, operations, and technology experience with hands-on AI implementation.
A practical perspective on AI adoption.
Dan Hughes, founder of PrincipleAI
Dan brings more than 25 years of experience helping organizations shape data strategy, select and implement ERP systems, build cloud data environments, improve reporting, and put artificial intelligence to work. He began his consulting career at Arthur Andersen Business Consulting, working on technology selection, ERP implementation, and process improvement, and he is the co-founder of Claritee.AI, a data analytics software development firm.
His industry experience spans construction, manufacturing, distribution, financial services, and healthcare. The operational records he has spent his career organizing—ERP data, job histories, spreadsheets, documents, and business rules—are the same foundations AI needs to become useful inside a company. He pairs that background with a design-thinking approach: understand the people doing the work, identify the real operating need, and design the solution around how the business actually functions.
Dan is also a veteran of the U.S. Navy Submarine Service, a licensed sailboat captain, and a Temple University graduate with a BBA in Accounting.
We don’t sell AI. We build teams that know how to use it.
The first question is what’s costing you time, money, or sleep—not which tool to buy. Twenty-five years inside ERP systems and industrial operations means we learn your process in your language; you don’t have to learn ours.
Some steps should stay human, and we name those before you spend anything. If AI isn’t the answer for a workflow, that’s the recommendation you’ll get.
Everything we build runs on clear written instructions your team can read, edit, and improve. Your operating knowledge stays with you—not locked inside a consultant or a black box.
Workshops build your champions; mentoring builds the workflow owners who run it day to day. Success is your team improving the work without calling us.
Work directly with the person accountable for the outcome.
PrincipleAI is deliberately founder-led. Dan remains involved from the initial conversation through delivery—whether the work involves leadership education, a hands-on workshop, workflow engineering, or ongoing capability development.
When a project requires additional depth, we deliver through strategic partners, each introduced clearly and brought in for a defined role:
- Liberty Fox TechnologiesA custom software development firm with deep experience in healthcare technology and AI-powered applications.
- Santor TechnologiesA Microsoft-focused data and analytics consultancy specializing in data engineering, platform migration, and business intelligence.
- BoxplotA data analytics and AI operations firm building dashboards, data science solutions, and process automation.
- Fractional C-SweetFractional executive leadership and AI readiness programs that prepare leadership teams to govern and adopt AI.
- Delaware Valley Industrial Resource Center (DVIRC)A nonprofit consulting and training organization helping small and mid-sized manufacturers in the Philadelphia region grow.
You know who is doing the work, why they are involved, and where accountability sits.
Bring one question, goal, or bottleneck. Leave with greater clarity.
In a 60-minute working session with Dan Hughes, we’ll explore what’s on your mind, assess whether AI is relevant, and identify a practical next step—if there is one. Whether you hire us or not.
